2010 Program
The Deaf Youth Camp of Color will have its first-time ever camp program. After camp, campers will have the opportunity to attend the 2nd Deaf People of Color Conference (DPCC) in Portland, Oregon with the support and supervision of DYCC staff.
DATES
The dates of the camp program at Camp Taloali are June 13-24th, 2010 starting at 2:00 PM. The dates of the Deaf People of Color Conference in Portland are June 25 – 27, 2010, starting at 12:00 PM.
PROGRAM FEE
The program fee per person is $1,500 (including Deaf People of Color Conference registration). It does not cover travels from home to/from Portland, Oregon; leisure snacks; and shuttle/cab ride from Deaf People of Color Conference to the Portland International Airport. Accepted campers should bring with them their own cash for such purposes.
TRAVEL PLAN
We ask that campers do not make any travel plans until they receive an acceptance letter from the Deaf Youth Camp of Color. Those who get accepted will be given more details on both the camp program and the Deaf People of Color Conference.
COMMUNICATIONS
Deaf Youth Camp of Color Director Team will be in contact with applicants via e-mail. Please understand that the parents or guardians of the applicants will be copied on the e-mail correspondences, for communication and support purposes.

VISION
It is the vision of Deaf Youth Camp of Color to educate and strengthen the inner qualities and character (beliefs, responsibility, pride and confidence) of deaf and hard of hearing campers who will evolve into future advocates for themselves and their community.
MISSION
The Deaf Youth Camp of Color (DYCC) will provide a warm and caring environment with a diverse pool of educated deaf and hard of hearing staff who will serve as role models teaching and engaging our campers in leadership activities and personal growth workshops to ignite in them a sense of responsibility, passion, commitment to become future advocates and leaders in their community and beyond.
