Tim Albert from New Orleans graduated from National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, New York with AAS degree in Photography in 1997. By 2002, he obtained his bachelor's degree in Social Work at Gallaudet University as well as master's degree in Social Work in 2004. Currently, he is a school social worker at the Georgia School for the Deaf in Cave Spring.
Ivy Velez is a grassroot Deaf Community Advocate and was born the oldest daughter of Deaf Parents who are both from Puerto Rico. She currently lives in Boston, Massachusetts where she works as a Wraparound Family Partner Supervisor at the Learning Center for the Deaf in Framingham, Massachusetts serving families in need with Department of Social Services - Family Stabilization and Reunification program.
Shilpa Hanumantha was born in Bangalore, India and moved to the United States a few years later. She received her bachelor's degree in Biology from George Mason University and two master's degrees from Gallaudet University: one in Administration and Supervision and the other in Clinical Psychology. Shilpa went on to receive her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. In addition to her academic accomplishments, Shilpa has been involved in several non-profit organizations within the Deaf community over the years.
Alim Chandani graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a B.S. in New Media and E-Business and from New York University with a M.A. in Deafness Rehabilitation and Higher Education. He became a Student Development Coordinator at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf within RIT. Alim is now working towards obtaining his doctorate degree in Administration and Supervision in Special Education at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C.

It is the vision of Deaf Youth Camp of Color to educate and strengthen the inner qualities and character (beliefs, responsibility, pride and confidence) of deaf and hard of hearing campers who will evolve into future advocates for themselves and their community.
MISSION
The Deaf Youth Camp of Color (DYCC) will provide a warm and caring environment with a diverse pool of educated deaf and hard of hearing staff who will serve as role models teaching and engaging our campers in leadership activities and personal growth workshops to ignite in them a sense of responsibility, passion, commitment to become future advocates and leaders in their community and beyond.
